Wine 1.5.12 Support Disabling Joystick Controllers and Bring XRandR Improvements

Every week Wine developing team brings some new features, improvements, and various bug fixes to the recently reported bugs, and moving towards the stable release Wine 1.6. So, here are the the key features and improvements in the development release 1.5.12

This release added a new joystick driver called dinput “DirectInput” which could be used for several purpose for controlling multiple Joystick controllers or disabling multiple them using “joy.cpl” registry key.

D3DX9 is a DirectX extensions used in a wide range of applications and games. It has been improved and fixed some bugs causing crashes for Pro Evolution soccer game and Victoria 2 demo. Also it brings better support for D3DX9 constant tables.

Some XRandR improvements which provides automatic discovery of modes (resolutions, refresh rates, …) together with the ability to configure outputs dynamically (resize, rotate, move, …).

Also it’s available to install on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin and Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot using PPA from here.

PPA currently includes wine 1.5.11 it will be updated soon to the latest development release. ” This is a development release install it at your own risk
