XBMC is a free and open-source entertaining multimedia software works on major platforms and gaming consoles such as Xbox and on PS3 compiled through Ubuntu. This release brings many improvements to the user interface with the new enhancements to Confluence theme by Jezz_x. The navigation bar for the home screen is titled horizontally and it gives more space to show recently added or played movies on the home screen, also addons links can be accessed through the home screen.
XBMC 11.10 Eden improves the ARM processor architecture support, and AMD devices are supported for GPU video decoding in Linux platform. Brings better support for video acceleration for Apple devices. All addons able to provide their own web interface. Efficiency improvements to reduce the CPU and GPU usage. Added support for MP4 embedded subtitles. Upgrade FFmpeg (libavformat and libavcodec) audio/video codec and demux library. Download the changelog file for further information.

Install XBMC 11.0 Beta Eden On Ubuntu using PPA
For Ubuntu users you can install the beta release of XBMC 11.0 using the unstable repository by XBMC team.
PPA works on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat, and Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx.
Run Terminal “Ctrl+Alt+t”, then type
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:team-xbmc/unstable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc
