VideoLAN organization just announced the latest stable release VLC 2.0 with codename “Twoflower”. Twoflower release comes with several enhancements to the user interface, better hardware decoding for H.264, MPEG-4, Xvid and WebM using multi-core CPU and GPU, also brings support for many new multimedia file formats. VlC 2.0 has a new OpenGL rendering Pipline, which support higher subtitle quality, shader for colorspace conversion, including 10bits and new video filters to enhance the video quality. Simplification of the audio core for faster processing. New audio outputs for iOS, Android and OS/2. Improved the MKV demuxer. BluRay support for experimental purposes.
