Does is support ordered chapters yet? Anyhow it’s still nothing compared to a configured MPC-HC.
VLC supports many sorting options check the screenshot. also in my opinion VLC is way better than MPC-HC.

The solution is to make sure your sevrer has php(5)-gd installed.I’m not a techy. Could you tell me what the above sentence means? In particular, I’d like to know what which sevrer’ means. and what php(5)-gd’ And how do you instal it?The links (I presume they’re links) in the box do not link to anything?I tried WordPress about two years ago and failed miserably. It doesn’t seem much better in 2011. Thanks in advance for any help.
Thank you so much for command-line help on installing VLC for Ubuntu 11.4 unfortunately, VLC didn’t work.
Do I need to uninstall other players? I’m not a software engineer but can do command-line easily and had no problems using command-line.
Is there anything you can suggest?
Thank you again,
Rev. Dave

Can we install vlc on ubuntu without internet connection(thru a USB device)?
also im unable to play any videos on my ubuntu based computer. it is asking for “required plugins”. plz advise….
Hello Khalid,
Yes, you can install VLC without internet connection, but you should have the binary package for installing “.deb”, also it will require VLC dependencies in case they are not installed on your system.
You will have to install codecs for playing different kind of multimedia files. Try GStreamer ffmpeg and GStreamer ffmpeg extra plugins.
