Kernel has been updated to version 3.0.0-7.9 which is updated from version Kernel 3.0-3.4 in Alpha 2 release and based on the mainline v3.0 kernel, main changes between alpha 2 and alpha 3 releases respect to the kernel are:
- Adopted a 3 digit kernel version, eg 3.0.0-x.y.
- Rebase to upstream v3.0 final kernel.
- Enable Overlayfs.
- Enable Realtek RTL8192CU/RTL8188CU wifi driver.
- Enable support for rt53xx wireless chipset family.
- Enable Intellimouse mode for Lenovo Zhaoyang E47.
- Numerous config updates.
Gwibber social network client has a newer interface and improved performance.
Lightdm GTK greeter switched to GTK3.
Gnome has been updated to unstable version Gnome 3.1.4 and getting closer to stable version Gnome 3.2 which will be available in last release of Ubuntu 11.1o Oneiric Ocelot.
New alt+tab applications switcher has a new look quite similar dock selecting applications.
Improved performance to launchers and panels.
