I like the idea of using web technology, its standardized yet give distributors like the Ubuntu team a simple method to create great UX for things like Login managers and so on. ( Yes i know they are using the GTK variant, just stating a point)
Does Light DM use each users desktop background as background? Because that would be really cool

I have reached the step before the login and it displays a terminal window how do I progress?
