[How To]: Mount ISO, IMG, BIN, MDF and NRG Files On Ubuntu Using Furius ISO Mount

It’s quite easy to get access to Image files without burning them using Furius ISO mount, with application you are able to mount these files ” ISO, IMG, BIN, MDF and NRG ” it’s completely simple GUI ” Graphical User Interface ” , automatically add a mount point for the selected image file. then it will be appear in your user directory or your home directory.

[How To]: Install Furius ISO mount

If you are using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, or Ubuntu 10.10 Alpha 1 Go to Ubuntu software center and search for “Furius” it will limit search result then download and install it.

To install Furius ISO Mount on other distributions, it required dependencies packages ” fuseiso, mono, libgtk2.0-cil, libmono-system2.0-cil, gksu ” , then download the source code from Here.

Main Features about Furius ISO mount

  • Mount ISO, IMG, BIN, MDF and NRG Files
  • Auto create mount point for mounted image file
  • Able to mount multiple Image files in the same time
  • Check sums for MD5 and SHA1
  • Burning this files using Brasero, or Nautilus

After the installations open it and browse Image file you want to mount or simply you can drag and drop it on the application window.

Selected Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook iso file , then press mount

Then it will automatically adding mount point and appears on your Home directory or computer. also you can check sum key using MD5 or SHA1 and compare it with original one to make sure your image file is not corrupted.

You can unmount it by selecting unmount drop down menu or from the application it self.
