Amarok 2.7 audio player is now available to install using PPA on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal and its different flavors such as “Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu studio, Xubuntu, Edubuntu, and any other release based on Quantal Quetzal”.
If you are already using Kubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, don’t bother yourself by adding additional repository, just run the update manager and it will install the latest stable release for Amarok version 2.7.
Other Quantal Quetzal variants can install Amarok using this repository. Please, follow the installation instructions down below.
Run Terminal “Ctrl+Alt+t”, then type,
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install amarok
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install amarok
