Mouse and Touchpad settings window for Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail no longer display an option to enable or disable horizontal scrolling. So, here’s how to enable horizontal scrolling and natural scrolling on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail.┬áIn the earlier release of Ubuntu we used to enable the horizontal scrolling feature directly from the “Mouse and Touchpad” settings window. Unfortunately, this feature is no longer available to enable directly from the settings window. So, all we need is the configuration editor for Ubuntu, which is pre-installed with package name “dconf-editor”.

Run command by clicking “Alt+F2″, then type “dconf-editor” without quotes.

Form the left side list follow this path “org –> gnome –> settings-daemon –> peripherals –> touchpad

  • Check “horiz-scroll-enabled” to enable Horizontal scrolling.
  • Check “natural-scroll” to enable Natural scrolling.

Also, if you have “Ubuntu Tweak” Installed you could enable “Natural Scrolling” from “Tweaks” tab then select “Miscellaneous”.

That’s it for now.
