Are you a Classic Gnome “Gnome fallback session” fan?! This tutorial is for you. This tutorial will help you to add items to the top and bottom panels, rearrange items on these panels and remove panels.

Here’s a screenshot of my desktop for Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal runs Gnome fallback session shows the default panels top panel and the bottom panel includes some items [icons, indicators, …etc]. So, let’s try to modify them.

Ubuntu 12.10 Classic Gnome " fallback session "

1. Add item to panels

Right mouse click is no longer working to reveal this menu. So, here’s how to reveal this menu.

Hold “Super key + Alt” then press the right mouse click on free location in the panel.

Now, you will be able to add a new panel, indicators, icons, modify the panel properties and you could delete the panel.

Also, you can simply drag and drop icons to the panel instead of using the custom application launcher.
