Mozilla Firefox 9 desktop web browser was released a few days ago. Mozilla always promises to bring better web browsing experience with newer releases of Firefox. The latest release of Mozilla Firefox 9 is 30% faster than Firefox 8 according to Java Script and HTML 5 benchmarks. Firefox 9 is 30% Faster than Firefox 8 ” Benchmark “

In the official blog of Mozilla Firefox the developer ran a different benchmarks to check the enhancements on Java Script performance, and how this will effect the web pages loading time that includes 3D graphics, games, videos, ..etc. Firefox now support XHR requests which allows you to see the downloaded content of currently loading page instead of waiting it to download the entire page.

Benchmark tools used on comparing Firefox 9 with Firefox 8 are Kraken, V8, and sun spider java script benchmark.

Install Mozilla Firefox 9 On Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot and Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal Using PPA

If you are a Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot or Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal user you will not have to update to the final stable release of Mozilla Firefox using additional repository, just run the update manager it should update the firefox as well, however the final stable release of Firefox take some time to be added to the local repository for Ubuntu Oneiric and Natty. So, if you would like to install it now instead of waiting, you can use Mozilla security repository for Ubuntu Oneiric and Natty.

Run Terminal, then type

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

Install Mozilla Firefox 9 On Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat and Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Using PPA

Run Terminal, then type

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

Download Mozilla Firefox 9 for other operating systems.
