Install Blender 2.60 On Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot Using PPA
Run Terminal “Ctrl+Alt+T” then type
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:cheleb/blender-svn
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blender
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blender
To install Blender 2.60 On Ubuntu earlier releases “Natty, Maverick, and Lucid” you can use the same PPA

Download Blender 2.60 for different platform.
